Data centers are expanding rapidly across Illinois, bringing new demands for electricity, water, and infrastructure. But communities are often left without clear information about how these facilities may affect local resources, energy prices, and environmental health.

What do these developments mean for our water supply? How might these affect our energy grid and utility bills? How can communities ensure their voices are a part of the discussion that affects our shared resources? 
This event will include overviews of the data center development landscape, the impacts of data centers on their host communities, and potential solutions to these problems. The evening will conclude with an opportunity to identify next steps and develop informed actions.
Whether you’re new to the issue or already engaged, this event is an opportunity to learn, ask questions, and help shape how our communities respond to the growing data center industry.

Event co-hosted by Go Green Mt. Prospect, Sierra Club, Citizens Utility Board, Alliance for the Great Lakes, Faith in Place, and Prairie Rivers Network.

  Earth Day Celebration April 22 | 4:30–6:30 PM 📍  Woodland Trails Park Hosted by the  River Trails Park District The  River Trails Park District  is hosting an amazing Earth Day event.  Go Green Mount Prospect  will be joining them for an afternoon of Earth Day fun and hands-on activities for kids and families. Stop by our table for  recycled craft projects ,  Earth Day poetry , and  seedling planting  to help inspire care for our planet. It’s a great way to celebrate Earth Day while learning simple ways we can all make a positive impact. River Trails Park District will also have a nature walk and a reptile show! 🌱 All ages welcome — come say hello and celebrate the Earth with us!

Emerson St. MP Join us for National Bike to Work Day! This highlights National Bike Month, organized by the League of American Bicyclists, who promote commuting by bike for better health, a cleaner environment, and reduced traffic. Go Green Mount Prospect will be hosting a pit stop with a quick snack and coffee. Make sure to bring your own to-go mug! Work from home?
