  Litter Clean Up at Busse Woods Saturday July 11th   10-12pm 450 S. Arlington Hts Rd. Elk Grove Village Join us for a litter clean up event at Busse Woods Grove #27. Busse Woods is one of the largest preserves with the most diverse forest. Participants will be provided gloves and trash bags, but welcome to bring your own tools. Families welcome. Enter through Main Dam Entrance on S. Arlington Heights Rd.

  Local Voices: Nature Journaling  with Christina Lovering Mount Prospect Public Library:  Meeting Room B Join us for a one-hour  introduction to nature  journaling! Christina will share tips on observing and  sketching the natural world,  then you'll try it yourself. Teens and adults welcome.  No art or journaling  experience needed.  Bring a  sketchbook or  journal/notebook if you have  one—supplies will also be available.

  We are back to the Lions Farmer's Market this summer! Stop by are table for some freebies including some free native plants and information on how to reduce your plastic use at summer events this summer.  We love seeing our Go Green community!  See you there!

Free Pile Day  Sun. June 7th 9am-7pm Google Map Here How to Participate: 1. Find items to give away. 2. Email address to be added to the Google Map of free piles.  3. Put free items out by 9am June 7th — no need to stick around! 4.  Bring in items left by 7pm or bring to a donation location. The Google Map will be shared 2 days before the event and removed at 7pm when the event ends. Anyone can participate by creating a free pile or by driving/biking around town looking for free treasures! Email  gogreenmountprospect@gmail.com IMPORTANT NOTE for FREE PILE LOCATIONS: Please put free items in your driveway or front lawn. Items are not to be placed at the curb during this event. Put items out at 9am and bring in by 7pm or take to a donation location. Do not just leave the curb please.

Don't have time to read the book, stop by anyway for some good conversation. Our first pick would be  Bringing Nature Home  by  Doug Tallamy.  June 4th, join us for a discuss about the book and all things sustainability.

    Local Voices Series: Home Composting & Soil Building May 3 | 11:15-12:15 PM 📍  Mount Prospect Public Library, Meeting Room B Join us for the next  Local Voices Series  presentation featuring  Anna Chubchenko , a local composter, neighbor, and Go Green Mount Prospect member. Anna will share her  tips and tricks for building healthy soil  and explain  simple ways to start a home composting system . Adam from Urban Canopy,  will talk about their program, which  offers home composting for those living in apartment buildings and condos,  event composting and a winter composting option.   A  Q&A session will follow the presentation , and attendees will leave with helpful resources and the knowledge to begin their own  home composting journey .  🌱 Come learn how turning food scraps into compost can nourish your garden and reduce waste!
