  🎬 The Extraordinary Caterpillar Movie — Movie in the Park! Join  Go Green Mount Prospect for our first-ever Movie in the Park , featuring  The Extraordinary Caterpillar Movie ! We’re excited to partner with  River Trails Park District , who is helping provide the shelter and equipment to make this event possible. Come early at  6:30 PM  for  free native seeds and popcorn , with the movie beginning at dusk. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs, cozy up, and enjoy this fascinating  one-hour film  all about the extraordinary world of caterpillars! Bring your neighbors, friends, and family—everyone is welcome! Woodland Trails Park 1600 E. Euclid Ave., Mount Prospect, IL 60056 Meet at the  gazebo near the playground . FREE EVENT! No registration required.

  Front Yard Freecycle   Sat. Sept. 26th 9am-6pm How to Participate: 1. Find items to give away. 2. Email address to be added to the Google Map of free piles.  3. Put free items out by 9am June 7th — no need to stick around! 4.  Bring in items left by 7pm or bring to a donation location. The Google Map will be shared 2 days before the event and removed at 6pm when the event ends. Anyone can participate by creating a free pile or by driving/biking around town looking for free treasures! Email  gogreenmountprospect@gmail.com IMPORTANT NOTE for FRONT YARD FREECYCLE LOCATIONS: Please put free items in your driveway or front lawn. Items are not to be placed at the curb during this event. Put items out at 9am and bring in by 6pm or take to a donation location. Do not just leave the curb please.  

  Go Green MP: Reading for a Change! Thur. Sept 17th 7-8:30pm Khepri Kitchen + Coffee 106 S. Emerson St. MP Book Club + In Person Meeting!!! It's time to start reading for our second book club meeting ever! Join us September 17 to discuss "The Death and Life of the Great Lakes" by Pulitzer Prize finalist Dan Egan. In this 2017 NYT Book Club pick, Egan covers the ecological history of the Great Lakes, including the effects of invasive species. This should be a very interesting and relevant read for us here in the Great Lakes region! No time to read? Join us anyway - you don't need to have to read the book to participate.  Let’s Talk Data Centers: Our Water, Our Power, Our Communities   Thur August 27th 6:30-8:30pm Mount Prospect Public Library Room A Register here  to save your seat as spots are filling up! Priority seating to those who registered. Data centers are expanding rapidly across Illinois, bringing new demands for electricity, water, and infrastructure. But communities are often left without clear information about how these facilities may affect local resources, energy prices, and environmental health. What do these developments mean for our water supply? How might these affect our energy grid and utility bills? How can communities ensure their voices are a part of the discussion that affects our shared resources?   This event will include overviews of the data center development landscape, the impacts of data centers on their host communities, and potential solutions to these problems.   Get your hand dirty and  make a difference! Join us for a hands-on habitat restoration series as we remove invasive plants right in our local park, Hill Street. We are working with the Mount Prospect Park District on this collaborative effort! Hill Street Work Days: 9:30-11:30am NOTE: Sat. 8/1 is canceled due to rain Register  here. Explore the gardens at your own pace—walk, bike, carpool, or drive between locations.
